Sunday, December 3rd, 2017, was a day that would not be easily forgotten in the minds of worshippers who trooped out in good numbers to encounter God at the Mega Festival 0.4, organized by Mike Power Gospel World Outreach whose convener is Obisami Micheal Oyewole.
The event titled One God: One Voice, took place at Fresh Oil International Ministry, Egbeda, Lagos, which had in attendance the presence of power-filled gospel singers which included Psalmos, Daniel Adegbenro, Dare Johnson & The Voice of Change, and Aden Solomon.
Speaking with The Sparklight at the venue, Mike Power said that what brought about the festival was as a result of thorough torture from God Himself after several warnings.
Obisami Micheal who hailed from Osun State, Southwest Nigeria, said several uneventful incidence shrouded his life adding that incidence of police case, several lost, debts, things were not working smoothly. He was warned to obey God, yet he turned deaf ears.
"I am a successful entrepreneur who deal in exporting. I have travels company registered as Treasure Pack International Service Limited. I am doing very fine, having branches with adequate staff. Far back 2007, I neglected my musical mandate and Living Faith Church,Winners Chapel, but went into full time business. I worked with Arik Air, Aeroland travels before I had mine.
"Although, I was sure I had God's mandate to work for Him, but I was mindful of not being like pastors whose survival depend on ridiculous money relied upon from members. I don't want people to call me pastor. people kept calling me, "Mr Mike we are missing your voice." I told them that they would hear me some other times while I turned deaf ear to the musical mandate. However, I was moving from one place to another. In another instance, a prophet told me that God was missing my voice in heaven. I went to many churches, Calvary, House on the Rock among others. At this point things got much harder. You know when God is calls you and you refuse to obey, you know the consequences. I faced mine squarely." He said.
The energetic anointed singer further revealed that he prayed to God, but he heard nothing directly from Him.
He said, "In March this year, there was a torture from God which metamorphosed into police case. I surrendered myself to them in an issue I don't really understand. Nonetheless, I offered to solve the issue presented if I would be given time, but the people involved were not ready to shift grounds. I was called different kinds of awful names, before I realised myself unsuspected tears were rolling out of my eyes. I wrote a statement at the police which was on Sunday, stating that I will pay the full sum of the money on Thursday, where as I had less than 10000 Naira in my bank account. The police and my wife asked me if I would be able to meet up, but I told them that God would not let me down.
"After all hope was gone, having no one left to run to neither within the country nor abroad, I consoled myself with my tears. On Monday, the following day, I visited a sister of mine who when she heard my story told me that she sensed in her spirit that I had been adamant to God's instruction, if only I would obey Him things will turn around for better for me. I helplessly confessed that I was ready. Being under pressure, she told me to go home and write out the order of program in my diary. It was not funny because I told him that Lord I am ready. She advised that I should have a kind of covenant with Him. I got home that day, brought out my diary, I was weeping while writing out the program under torture. My wife had to pet me while profusely letting out the tears while writing. Clearly written, I said, "God, if you can do all these for me, I am ready to serve you."
He added that, "I was still hoping on how I was going to settle my debt. On Wednesday of preceding the Thursday, I received threatening calls but I told those calling that God was in control. No sooner had all hope lost than I received a called for a job, immediately, the person sent 430,000 Naira into my account. I called the police that the money (390,000Naira) was ready. That was how that issue was settled.
"I wrote in my diary that the program would be on 23rd of March, 2017, but I told my wife and the coordinator that we should shift the event till when we have enough crowd, but that same woman told me that God had played his part, it was only left for me to do mine. In my house it started with nine people. We recorded 86 people who attended the second edition. At the third, we had over 200 worshippers. We are trusting God to stage our next edition in Lekki."
The results of his obedience to God have brought changes to his life. He said, "I got a new car, all my debts were paid, I now have peace in my spirit, my businesses have thereafter flourished, I have more branches in Ikeja and more staff.
Mike Power said his stage name was given by Papa of The Living Faith Church, Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo after a ministration in October 2007 which has to do with power. He said Papa (The Bishop) had to come from office and asked him to sing the song again, he called him Power, thereafter, everyone has been calling him power (Mike Power).
Ministering at the event, an Assistant General Superintendent of Christ Gospel Apostolic Church, Pastor Dare Adewole urged worshippers to sing with their hearts not the lips. He warned that any song that does not come from the heart cannot be heard by God.
