Boy,8, Murdered Trying To Prevent Sister From Being Rape

An eight-year-old boy was beaten to death with a rock after trying to protect his sister from being raped.

According to the police, a teenager approached the siblings who were playing outside their home in Richmond, Virginia, and sexually assaulted the 12-year-old girl.

Witnesses say the attacker also threw a rock at her younger brother’s head as he defended his sister.

Neighbours alerted police when they saw the girl, naked and covered in blood, running out of the woods near her house.

Paramedics pronounced the boy dead at the scene.

The victim initially described her attacker as a white male with scraggly facial hair, however police discovered she was threatened into providing a false description.

Police have now arrested a black teenager suspected of the attack.

Pastor of the local church, Dr Theodore Hughey, described the siblings as ‘good kids’.

‘You never saw one without the other. He was like her guardian,’ he said.

Neighbour Sudan Aunu said of the boy’s actions: ‘His sister is alive today because of him.’

                                  

The local community has been left in shock, with several vigils being held outside the children’s home.

Richmond police major Scott Booth said they are ‘trying to put this thing together’, but would not comment on the seriousness of the girl’s injuries
