Chairman, Senate Committee on
Local and Foreign Debts, Senator Shehu Sani, APC, Kaduna Central, and the state
chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, were, yesterday, locked in a war of
words over the former’s suspension.
While Senator Sani declared
that his suspension would not stand, the state APC described his attack on the
party as uncouth, shameless and disgraceful. Sani, who accused Kaduna State
governor, Nasir el-Rufai, of instigating his suspension, said in a statement
yesterday:
“For a man who has been unable
to address the pervasive insecurity and genocide in southern Kaduna, for a man
who has been unable to stem the tide of rampant kidnapping and abductions in
Kaduna, suspending Shehu Sani cannot be counted as an achievement.”
Acting Publicity Secretary of
the party, Salisu Tanko Wusono, in a statement, said: “Shehu Sani’s outburst is
a confirmation that he has no sense of shame. He is a man full of tantrums, a
man, who simultaneously entertains and distresses people with his shameless
antics.
“He has since lost focus and
why he was elected to the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the good
people of Kaduna Central under the banner of the APC.
“We suspended him indefinitely,
following his various anti-party activities and utterances aimed at tearing the
party into pieces.
“The masses of Kaduna Central
have since unravelled his deceit. His heart and mind are in the PDP whose agent
he has been in our party.
