An MP was caught watching a
pornographic video on his phone while Parliament was in session.
Joao Rodrigues, a member of the
ruling Brazilian Social Democratic Party, was seemingly watching the video with
his phone under the desk.
At points he even appeared to
share it with other legislators.
It happened during a debate on
electoral reform by the Chamber of Deputies – and he had an invite to attend
mass at the headquarters of Bishops of Brazil on his desk.
Media reports in Brazil claim
women were shown in ‘obscene’ positions.
But Rodrigues hit back on
Facebook, claiming he received the video on WhatsApp, and was on the verge of
deleting it.
He wrote: ‘I participate in
nearly a hundred groups on WhatsApp and during the day I search and separate
the wheat from the chaff.
‘What interests me I keep or
forward and what doesn’t interest me, I delete. It was just what I was doing,
erasing the rubbish.’
He said he deleted the video
and blocked the sender for good measure.
