PMAN President, Pretty Okafor, was honored with an award from the Nigerian Copyright Commission for his efforts in pushing for the New Copyright Act 2022. The Act was signed into law by the President of Nigeria and will ensure that performers and authors are better protected and provided with fair compensation for their work.
At the award ceremony, Mr Okafor thanked the Nigerian Copyright Commission for their recognition and outlined the benefits of the Act. He stated that the Act will provide a better and more efficient mechanism for collecting royalties for the use of musical works and sound recordings, while also stimulating the Nigerian music industry.
At the award ceremony, Mr Pretty Okafor delivered a speech that was well received by the audience. He thanked the Nigerian Copyright Commission for their recognition and assured them that the New Copyright Act 2022 will benefit all stakeholders involved.
He further stated that the New Copyright Act 2022 will ensure that the rights of performers and authors are better protected and that the compensation they receive for their work is commensurate with their efforts.

Mr Pretty Okafor had succeeded in ensuring that performers and authors in Nigeria were better protected and provided with fair compensation for their work. His efforts were applauded by all and it was thanks to his relentless push that the New Copyright Act 2022 was made into law.
