*Celebrating Tein T.S. Jack-Rich,
the Colossus of Africa’s Hope at 48*
Birthdays are supposed to be
occasions for the celebration of life by the living. Birthdays are also a
period when the celebrator takes stock of his or her life and feels like
climbing the mountaintop to shout Hallelujah.
Undoubtedly, if there is any
human being who has experienced the proverbial Seventh Heaven, typical of a
woman who has just safely been delivered of a baby, it is no other than Tein
T.S. Jack-Rich, the quintessential businessman an philanthropist
As this oil and gas wizard
celebrated his 48thth birthday, not a few shared in his joy. The reason is not
far-fetched. The “birthday boy” means so many things to so many people in and
outside the country.
Many of his friends, business
associates as well as mentees, fans and admirers rained encomiums, goodwill and
birthday messages on him.
He is an energetic, vibrant and
inspirational leader. His steadfast commitment to sustainable prosperity via
enterprise has made a profound difference in the lives of young entrepreneurs.
His support for the older entrepreneurs
in the African business community as a whole has changed the narrative for the
positive transformation of the continent.
The messages on social media were
almost endless as people tried to out-do one another to pen goodwill messages
for him as if there was a trophy for the best writer.
Of course, this indicates that Jack-Rich
is well-loved and appreciated by all. He, according to reports, had shown
traces of precocity very early in life. Though he might not be said to have
been clairvoyant, his childhood betrayed him as a potentially great person in
life.
As a child, his dream was to
become one of the greatest businessman and philanthropist in the world.
Luckily, providence has granted him his heart’s desire.
At the age of just ten, the
responsibility to become a man was naturally bestowed on young Jack-Rich who at
the time had lost both parents, and without any guardian except God Almighty to
chart his path.
After twelve years of hard work,
Jack-Rich founded J+G Global Gas & Oilfield Limited in 1998 and other
subsidiaries to provide oil and gas-related services. Today he is the
President/Founder of Belemaoil Producing Limited, the first indigenous oil
Exploration and Production Company in Nigeria to emerge from an oil Producing
Community in the heart of Niger Delta.
As a philanthropist driven by his
values to give back to the society, he has through his Foundation, awarded
scholarships to hundreds of students, some of whom have graduated from schools
in Canada, Ghana, Ukraine, UK, USA, Malaysia, Nigeria, North Cyprus, and the
Philippines.
Today Jack-Rich and his
Foundation have provided for his Community and other Communities the best
portable drinking water, employing over 3,000 Nigerian youths with plans for 12,000
as ambassadors of wealth creation throughout Nigeria.
Jack-Rich studied Petroleum
Production Technology in Panola College Cartage, (Texas) USA, Business
Administration at the University of Wales, and Business Management at Usam
University, with several Fellowship and Doctorate awards within and outside
Nigeria.
No doubt, at 48, he has contributed to the
growth of Nigeria’s economy as well as the growth of many citizens of the
country more than most people alive today. Despite his status as a member of
the upper crust, Jack doesn’t believe in pulling up the ladder behind him. The
Delta State-born billionaire has been a fierce advocate of policies to promote
opportunity.
A hearty 48th
birthday to Jack!
