Man, 40, Rapes, Impregnates 12-Yr-Old Wife’s Niece

A 40-year-old man, Livinus Andoma, has been arraigned before Gudu Upper Area Court for allegedly raping and impregnating a 12-year-old girl (names withheld).

The victim is a relation of his wife and stays with the couple as housemaid in their Lokogoma area of Abuja residence.

According to a prosecution witness, in April 2015, the accused allegedly lured the girl into his bedroom, raped her and threatened to kill her, if she disclosed the incidence to anyone.


Andoma allegedly continued to sleep with the girl until she became pregnant. In what appeared to be a mild drama, one Moses Anukia, told the court that the same matter had been filed at an FCT High Court; arguing that the Upper Area Court could not entertain the suit.

However, the presiding judge of Gudu Upper Area Court, directed the prosecution team to find out the true position of the matter and report back.
