Getting your photo published in
National Geographic is one of the most prestigious honors a photographer can
receive. The magazine has an amazing reputation for stunning readers with
beautiful photos and over the years they’ve become the premier publisher of
pictures. Every year, thousands of people submit their work for a chance to
make it into one of their publications. Whether you’re looking for a study of a
certain culture in a remote corner of the world, an African safari series that
captures the previously unseen moments of a rare species or an epic action
shot, you can count on National Geographic to have it.
In fact, sometimes they have so
many amazing photos that they just don’t know what to do with them all. When
there just isn’t enough room to share every single one of them, they often end
up in the archives, never to be seen again. They claim their spots among the
dust and hope to one day be found again. Luckily, the magazine recently decided
to dive through their files and release some of their best, unpublished photos.
