A woman accused of killing her fiance
by tampering with his kayak later said ‘it felt good knowing he would die’, a
court has heard.
Angelika Graswald, 35, waited
20 minutes to dial 911 after Vincent Viafore’s kayak capsized when it filled
with water on the Hudson River, 50 miles north of New York City.
The court has not yet heard how
the kayak was tampered with and Mr Viafore’s body has never been found. Read more after cut

Graswald is facing a second
degree murder charge with attorneys saying she stood to receive $250,000 from
life insurance policies.
However, her lawyer said that
she may have been coerced into a confession and English isn’t her first
language so may have been misunderstood.
After Mr Viafore’s kayak filled
with water, he held on for five to 10 minutes, and witnesses have said she
intentionally capsized her own kayak.
She was later rescued and
treated by paramedics.
Assistant District Attorney
Julie Mohl said Graswald later told investigators that she felt relief and ‘it
felt good knowing he would die.’
Bail has been set at $3million
cash.
