Zmapp certifed as Ebola cure. Trials to begin in Nigeria

  

 US made experimental Ebola drug, ZMapp, has been proven by scientists to cure the virus 100% in Rhesus Monkeys.18 of the laboratory monkeys were infected with the deadly virus, including those suffering the fever and hemorrhaging characteristics of the disease and had been hours from death.

The research showed that Monkeys treated five days after infection survived, and five days of infection in the animal has been said to be the equivalent between 9 to 11 days after infection in humans. Three other Monkeys who got no Zmapp treatment died from the virus days later.

   

     The clinical trials for the experimental drug (ZMapp), which is produced by Mapp Biopharmaceutical in SanDiego, USA, is in the works in Mary land USA. Human trials for the drug is set to begin in three African countries this week, of which Nigeria is one of them. The human clinical trials require a healthy individual to be infected with the Ebola virus then treated with the experimental drugs.
