Four policemen and the regional manager of a
new generation bank at Igwurita community in the Ikwerre area of Rivers State,
were shot and killed yesterday May 28th by dare devil armed robbers.
The incident
which happened in the morning, threw the whole area around Igwuruta roundabout
into chaos as motorists fled their vehicles.
The state
Police assistant public relations officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the
incident, saying five people including four policemen and a bank manager were
killed.
She described
the incident as an armed robbery attack but said security agencies had begun
investigation with a view to apprehend the perpetrators and make them face the
law.
