The giants in the Yoruba film industry gathered last Sunday at the Ibadan Civic Centre in Agodi for the third edition of the annual Yoruba Movies Academy Awards (YMAA) which featured several nominee including the the best actor, best actress, best directors and so on.
The environment was cosy for the veteran actor cum director as other participants were called to be honored in their respective roles and perfomance.
He was nominated for the movie ‘Alami Ayemi’, alongside Abiodun Olanrewaju, Niji Akanni and Kunle Afod but lost to to Akanni who directed the movie ‘Aramotu’.

It was however reported that Saidi Balogun did not win the best director award has he had expected and this infuriated him into storming out of the event. All effort to call himby friends and fans were abortive as he felt diappointed in the organizers for what he perceived to be a conspiracy
