The 18th anniversary of St. George's Ambulance Foundation is set to hold in Abuja, the nation's capital, the organisers said at the weekend.
In a statement signed by the Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees, Engr. Adams Hamzat, the event will hold at the Transcorp Hotel, Abuja, during which leading lights in national regeneration through leadership and service to humanity would be rewarded with honorary awards and Investiture in different categories.
According to Hamzat, who doubles as National Coordinator of the foundation, eminent personalities to.be given award include former military President and Head of State, Gen. Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, GCON, who is the Grand Patron of the foundation, former President Goodluck Jonathan, GCON, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, GCON, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja11), royal father of the day, whose national peace initiatives and remarkable contributions during the heat of Covid-19 is being rewarded and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Others are the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, SAN, Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami, Managing Director, National Inland Waterways, Chief (Dr) George Moghalu and the Managing Director, Passmark Construction Company, Chief Paul Onwuakpaoke.
The list also include the Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Muhammad Mamman Nami and Ezeani of Mmaku Kingdom, Enugu State, Igwe Maduabushi Nevobasi.
The statement noted that the various recipients of the award and the investiture were deserving for their roles and contributions to humanity over time either in private capacities or official positions without any fanfare.
Hamzat further stated that St. George's Ambulance Foundation is the foremost humanitarian organisation that has championed emergency ambulance services in Nigeria
