VOICE OF THE SOUTHERN PEOPLE OF NIGERIA. (VOTSPON) ARTICULATES ITS POSITION ON FOREIGN FULANI HERDSMEN & BANDITS

A vote of Confidence on Amotekun, OPC and ESN./A call for a joint collective effort to flush out invading foreign Fulani herdsmen bandits out of our southern forest. The hour has come for us southern to defend our ancestral lands from invading foreign Fulani herdsmen bandits.

Matters arising/VOTSPON Resolution: 25/03/2021.

(1) We the magnificent members and radiant compatriots of the Voice of the Southern People of Nigeria (VOTSPON) wish to officially commend the effort of our southern comrades and compatriots Protecting and defending our ancestral lands from invading foreign Fulani herdsmen bandits that are killing, raping, and kidnapping our people. Enough is Enough. Security is everybody's business. The bandits are armed and kidnapping in the South, raping and killing our women in our farmlands.

The failure of the Federal Government to secure Nigerians led to the formation of indigenous security vigilante groups like Amotekun, ESN, etc. We have no problem with the resolution of indigenous local vigilante groups to protect our good People of Southern Nigeria and rid our forest of invading foreign Fulani herdsmen bandits. We commend the effort of our southern compatriots in whichever capacity and umbrella they are operating under to Protect and safeguard the Land and People of southern Nigeria.

We hereby officially pass a vote of confidence on Amotekun, OPC, and ESN. The alarming escalating level of insecurity in Nigeria calls for massive serious proactive defensive as well as a protective measure which includes self-defense. We can not fold our hands and watch invading foreign Fulani herdsmen bandits kill our people and rape our women in our farmlands while we stand aside and watch waiting for the Nigerian military alone to defend and protect our good people of Southern Nigeria. Enough is Enough. Again, we commend the effort of our southern compatriots in whichever capacity and umbrella they are operating under to Protect and safeguard the Land and People of southern Nigeria.

(Resolution/ Subject Matter:2 ) Tinubu urges govt to convert unoccupied public lands to ranches: Our Response: Chief. Bola Ahmed Tinubu must be completely out of his mind. Bola Ahmed Tinubu is obviously and apparently ready to do anything including selling his ancestral land and birthright to the Fulanis just to be President in 2023. It's extremely unfortunate.

However, we wish to officially inform and notify Bola Ahmed Tinubu that no inch of our ancestral land in the entire Southeast and southwest will be given to Fulani herdsmen under whatever disguise. Bitter Truth: Bola Tinubu, who did not visit or donate even one kobo to victims of the Sasa market crisis, or to victims of the Ijesha market fire in Lagos (though his own daughter is the Iyaloja, i.e. head of market traders in Lagos), a few days ago visited  victims of the Katsina market fire and donated 50 million to them. Obviously, Tinubu’s charity begins far from home as rightly stated by one Mr.Reno Omokri.

(Resolution/Subject Matter 3) Sunday Igboho's Quit Notice. Our Response: (1) When the Coalition of Northern Groups on several occasions issued quit notice to Southerners living in the North to vacate the North. what did the Military do to them? Nothing and it is on record that nothing was done to them. So, what's the big deal with what Sunday Igboho said? Collation of Northern Groups is found of issuing quit notice to Southerners living in the North to vacate the North.

It's not a new story in Nigeria. Sunday Igboho must have emulated the Collation of Northern Groups.  The Military that is declaring to go after Sunday Igboho should first and foremost go after those armed invading foreign Fulani herdsmen bandits that are terrorizing Nigerians and flush them out of Nigeria before going after Sunday Igboho. Attention: We respectfully warn with a very firm tone that nothing must harm or happen to Sunday Igboho directly or indirectly due to use of force or any violent means that is capable of harming his life.

(Resolution/Subject Matter 4) Attacks by Unknown Gun Men in the East. A disturbing development that requires an urgent solution. We condemn the increasing attacks on security officers in the south-Eastern part of Southern Nigeria by Unknown Gunmen. We have for weeks now watched and carefully studied unfolding events in the South East. All is apparently not well. Everyone is affected directly or indirectly. Our southern brothers and sisters are also members of the Police Force and the armed forces that appear to be the main target of the unknown gunmen in the South East.

It is indeed a very disturbing development. It's equally disheartening to note that the southeast before the emergence of the unknown gunmen was not at war yet they had and still do have the highest number of Police/Military checkpoints presence in Nigeria. Why? Why choke and suffocate the people of South East with security checkpoints where men and women in uniform extort and take bribes from innocent citizens in the name of mounting checkpoints? Extremely sad and pathetic!

We call on the Federal Government to drastically reduce and de-escalate the Police/Military checkpoints across the South East. We unconditional condemn the killing of security agents by Unknown Gun Men and hereby officially appeal to the unknown gunmen to stop killing security agents in the entire South East.

Thank you, all.

Signed:

Comrade: Ikem Anthony Kalzeeni, Field Commander VOTSPON.
