A starving dog was found by the police chewing on the leg of
its dead owner, who had lain undiscovered for about four weeks.
The man was reportedly last spotted by his neighbours four
weeks ago which means that the famished dog could have been munching on his
dead owner for up to a month.
The Australian police made the tragic discovery in the town
of Geelong near Melbourne, after locals reported loud barking. Sergeant David
Magher told the Geelong Advertiser: "Police looked through the door at the
rear of the house and saw a male on the bed.
His right leg was missing and the other gnawed to the bone.
The dog inside the unit appeared to be extremely aggressive so council rangers
were called in to restrain it." He added there were no suspicious
circumstances surrounding the death.
The man, who has not yet been named had not been seen for
four weeks when police and council workers arrived for a welfare check The
dog's breed is yet to be revealed
