Following the resignation of the embattled National Chairman
of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, which was triggered by
pressure from party leaders, stakeholders and supporters of the party, he has
requested that the deputy national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, takeover as
the acting chairman.
Mu’azu noted that due to the abysmal performance of the
party in the 2015 general elections, it became imperative for him to leave and
for peace to reign in the PDP.
In the letter, he asked Secondus to step in as acting
National Chairman in line with the party’s constitution.
The leadership of the party is currently holding a National
Working Committee, NWC meeting on the former chairman’s resignation.
