Explosion Rocks Busy Market in Damaturu, Many Feared Dead




A bomb blast in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State, earlier on today has killed at least fifteen people, a Reuters witness at a nearby hospital said. The blast occurred at about 11a.m at a busy market near a bus station and left many dismembered human parts littering the scene.


 At least 36 people were wounded, many critically, as ambulances continued to bring in the injured. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast, but it bore the evidence of Islamist militant group Boko Haram.
