Gov Amosun shuts down OOU to prevent students protest against criminal school fees

Ogun state government under the leadership of Governor Ibikunle Amosun has shut down entire activities of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago Iwoye after a peaceful protest was staged at Oke Mosan about two weeks ago.

The Governor gave his word to the student as he requested for a week to call a meeting that will address the unfair, anti-mass and inimical school fees that is capable of rendering a large cross section of the student, a drop-out as he has renege in his promise to address the issue within the requested 7 days.

The governor had banned all/any public gathering of student as a means of depriving them the right to a peaceful protest, a totalitarian tool in a draconian political system.

This act according to comrade Yemi Castro, should not be entertained as he encouraged the student to fashion out another modality to make their plight known not only to the present Ogun state fascist system, but every governor who is nursing the discreet ambition to exploit scholarship as a political means of achieving his personal-vested political shield.

Today being Monday, these progressive students are supposed to lock down the school and go to Oke-Imosan to display the histo-Biblical Jacob-versus-angel-like protest until their demands are considerably met.

Will this anti-democratic, anti-progressive “agba-iyaic” measure stop these youngstars from articulating their demands?

The co-odinator of the Committee for the Defence of Human Right CHDR( Ago Iwoye) has however  appeal to students not to travel home. He implored them resist all urge to travel.
“Tell your parents that if you travel, you will come back to pay not just the same fees, but more than that. That is the plan of the state government. Remain in school. Let us collectively hold our ground. We are closer now to victory than ever . he stated
