Pastor
Samuel Kayode, 57 has a lot of explaining to do as he currently
at the centre of a fraud investigation in London, after £4million (about N1.2Billion)
of school funds which went missing from the account of the Haberdashers’ Aske’s
Federation Trust in South London ended up in his personal accounts.
It began in October 2012 when officials discovered a large sum of money was
missing from the academy's funds and Pastor Kayode was arrested, with his
assets and those of his wife Grace, were frozen.
The man of
God who happens to be a top pastor at the Christ Apostolic Church, South
London, denied any wrongdoing and claimed all transactions had been authorised
by the finance director before they were carried out, the court asked him to
pay back the £4million with interests.
But till
now, Kayode is yet to pay the said amount. It was during this trial that his
wife, 53 died last year.continue..
It appeared that huge sums of school money
had been paid into a bank account in Nigeria and a company called Samak, which
is said to be run in Nigeria by Kayode’s second wife Yoni.
He will be speaking with the detectives
this week, but reports claim that he has spent most of the cash on extravagant
lifestyle and buying a string of properties.
The case was kept secret for almost two
years now. Kayode started working with them in 1997 and rose to become accounts
manager forthe whole chain. He was paid £57,000 ayear.
