The Kano State Government has denied the widespread reports that the son of the late emir, Sunusi Ado-Bayero, had been selected.

However, Premium Times had confirmed that the governor of Kano State,  Rabiu Kwankwaso, flanked by four kingmakers from the Kano Emirate today announced ousted Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the new Emir of Kano.
