Chinese Man Covered In Bees Breaks World Record For 36k Bees Covering A Man

China has again  taken another step towards global dominance by covering a man in 326,000 bees.

Gao Bingguo, a 54-year-old beekeeper from Shandong Province, has been raising bees for more than 34 years, so there was probably no better target for 33 kilograms of the insect.

A beekeeper has set a new world record for having the most bees on his body in Tan'an, northern China's Shandong Province. In order to set the record Gao Bingguo covered himself in 326,000 bees weighing around 32.6kg.

Gao, 54, has been raising bees for more than 30 years. To begin with Gao washed himself thoroughly as getting rid of human smells can reduce the number of bee stings. After the bath he had 60 queen bees boxes attached to his body to attract the worker bees.

As helpers dumped boxes of bees at his feet, it took around 2 and a half hours for Gao to become completely covered. After the bees were removed Gao immediately immersed himself in a pot of warm water to ease the sting pains.  Gao said he was stung for approximately 2,000 times.

The proud beekeeper was then presented with the plaque marking his new world record. Check out the video to see the bee champion in action.
